about

"A Letter to My Elders" is an attempt at innocent angst, toeing the line between earnest plea and outright sarcasm. The target audience will be hard to guess, but all are welcome. It is a case for tradition made in the medium of electronica. It is a condemnation of the crass played on a borrowed synthesizer. It is a denial of itself, but it makes a good point.

lyrics

I've been thinking a lot
about what you said
I think I finally understand

That two plus two is more than
we used to think
They didn't have our methods then

Electronic
Therapeutic
Eco-friendly
Indie music

Antiseptic
Economic
Next-day shipping
Cardboard boxes

Do you ever get the feeling
that in time we'll feel foolish
that the things we thought
would make us good just made us stupid?

And after all is said and done
and we've all learned our lesson
we'll realize what little time there is

Here's my two-week notice
I'm giving up
on giving in to your demands

I'm writing notes to myself
about what to do
Have you seen my favorite pen?

There has to be a better way
than warrantees and expiration dates
telling everyone that everyone's okay
except they're not.

I'm not sure of much
but of that much at least
I think I'm sure

And if you want
I'll meet you out
at boundaries and candor where we were

And if you ever start to say
what you're actually thinking
let me know

But until then I'll just be here
sitting idle in park
looking at my phone
